I have a golf mk7 match and have bought some aftermarket led DRL headlights (GTi style).
The drls work fine until the low beam bulbs are switched on - at this point on one lamp one of the DRL 'hoops' turns off and the other flickers. On the other lamp both 'hoops' turn off.
I'm guessing this is related to the issue you are trying to fix here.
The problem is I can't find the leutch settings on my VCDS, I have searched high and low and can find nothing to do with lighting.

I just thought he would not get a notification as I removed all traces of his quote that's all bud
Rick - Hi. I'm on a few forums now, so I've opted not to receive notifications - they just clutter-up the emails for my other life as a normal person (well....perhaps "normal" is the wrong word according to my therapist!!)
So it's not clear why you can't find the Leuchte (not "leutch") channels with your VCDS cable. The problem might be spelling issue, or you might not be using the latest Ross-Tech software.
Once you have selected Adaptation in the control module @ address hex09, enter the term "leuchte" into the search box and you will be presented with 665 x Leuchte-channels.
I suspect that the problem might be with the Lasttyp setting in the Leuchte-sets ( a Leuchte-set is a bank of 19 x adaptation channels which are related by name and which control a particular lamp) for the Low Beams and perhaps also the DRLs
The left-side Low beam is Leuchte6ABL LC5-Lasttyp 6
The right-side low beam is Leuchte7ABL RB1-Lasttyp 7
If your previous lights were incandescent, it's likely that the settings for the 2 x channels above will be 11 - Abblendlicht (this the standard factory setting for incandescent headlights). Try changing these to 5 - LED Abblendlicht

I did as you said, now the DRLs are unaffected by the Main beam beam bulb being turned on.......problem now is the low beam bulb won't illuminate.
I have also no noticed that I cant use high beam flash unless the light control switch is set to main beam......I have tried this in auto and sidelight mode with no joy. ( I'm not sure if this was like this before the steps you advised, I will need to revert the code and try again).
What's Weird is that the low beam bulbs on the halogen lamps still illuminate after these steps.....they seem to be functioning exactly as they did before.
I reverted the codings.....though I must have missed something somewhere as I havent got back to stage 1 like when I originally posted (one DRL out and one blinking) for some reason.
Currently the situation is as follows.
Switch set to:
0 - DRL LED 'HOOPS" ILLUMINATED
AUTO - DRL LED 'HOOPS" ILLUMINATED
Issue here: can't use high beam flash + no sidelights
Sidelights - DRL LED 'HOOPS" ILLUMINATED
Issue here : cant use high beam flash + no sidelights
Main beam - DRL LED 'HOOPS" ILLUMINATED + MAIN BEAM + I can high beam flash.
Issue here: when I hold on the high beam the sidelights come on and stay on!!!!
Please help.
I may take it into VW next week to see if they can help as I think this could be very long-winded!!

I'm tempted to put the old lamps back in already!

Rick: OK - I think you should keep trying - it sounds like a Lasttyp setting issue
I just re-read your original post. Am I correct in assuming that when you said "have bought some aftermarket led DRL headlights (GTi style)" you mean that the headlights are LED - in particular is the Low beam LED?
If you just changed the DRLs to LEDs, then my suggested changes won't work because the low beams are still incandescent
Another thing to try is to revert my previous suggested changes and to alter the Lasttyp setting on the DRLs
Leuchte5 TFL RB32-Lasttyp 5 and Leuchte4TFL LB4-Lasttyp 4 > change from 9 - allgemeine Glühlampe 27W; auch H15 to 1 - LED Tagfahrlichtmodul Versorgung

Rick: sounds like you have missed a step in your reversion process! Have you checked the Adplog.CSV file to make sure that ALL the steps were reverted?
Not sure if you are aware, but VCDS keeps a record of ALL the changes that you make in a file called Adplog.CSV (for changes to adapation channels) in the directory C:\Ross-Tech\ VCDS\Debug.
Open this file using something like MS Excel and you will see a list of changes that made. Or post the file somewhere where I can download it and place a link on this forum

The original headlamps are completely Incandescent.
My Chinese (more likely "R" Style as have swiping led indicators) headlamps have 3 H7 Incandescent bulbs, one is main beam, one is low beam and the other is a "dummy" cornering bulb. The DRL hoops and indicators are both LED.
I shall try as you suggested a bit later on.....I'm feeling confident about this new change to have suggested.
If you give me your PayPal email I want to send you a donation for your help so far bud!

Hi Don,
The situation listed was as per the previous post (just a bit more detailed).
