When did you get the order in? The generic email came out on the 4th of August; I'm guessing if you've ordered after that or even close to that date it may not have been on VWAs system to auto email it out to you. As above, if you can get a COMM number off your dealer you can ring VWA directly to confirm it with them. Hope it settles your nerves!

Dealer will be the easiest (if not the only way). If you're lucky calling VWA directly may result in them telling you but I tried twice and was told they can't release it and get it from your dealer. Once you get it then they're happy to track it for you!

Yes that's right. Called them knowing that my previous order that was to be delivered in March had one. My new order will be here end of December so it must've been allocated a Comms No. but the dealer hadn't passed that on.

Oryx white still looks good with the grey wheels plenty of black trim elsewhere. Heading to Frankfurt via Italy amazingly not so many Rs on the road over here going to drop by HGP Turbo check out the goods

Does anyone know whether any MY18 Wolfsburg hatches have arrived in oz yet? I recall someone saying there was a white no sunroof in a dealership...I assume that would have been MY17?

Im waiting on a white with no sunroof but thinking I should have gone the signature lapis blue. I assume the wait on a blue would be extreme.

As far as colour causing longer delays, I think all the earlier build Wolfsburgs were pre-orderd by VWOz, then allocated to dealers according to some arcane formula. So if you want a particular colour/sunroof combination it would depend on what is still available rather than being ordered.

If a car needs to be ordered and then built it's obviously going to take longer than one that is already in the supply chain. And that is without considering delays caused by supply problems with some components. I've been told the active display unit is causing build delays, and there has been discussion about other things also being in short supply.

I test drove a 7.5 r and the dealer indicated it was a MY17....he advised that the brakes change between my17 and 18. Not sure this is true though.

I think any car between August 2016 - July 31 2017 would be MY17.
So anything between August 1 2017 and July 31 2018 would by MY18.
That's how I understand it anyway.

Build date is the build date. It's compliance date that determines the MY year.
