Flow Design Front Splitter Install Golf 7R

I received my Flow Front Splitter today and was hoping to install it but ran into a few difficulties. I have seen in a video that it makes life a whole lot easier if you remove the front bumper but I was hoping not to take such a drastic step. The main issue I have is that there is a plastic cover which seems to be permanently attached to the bottom of the bumper. The covers around it are easy to remove, but the cover at the very front of the vehicle seems to be attached to the bottom of the bumper which makes it very difficult to attach a nut and bolt.

Has anybody installed the Flow Front Splitter that could give me a couple of tips?

In the meantime I think I may paint the splitter jet black to give it a more OEM look.

Thanks Sergio, I actually received that diagram with my front lip but was wondering about the lower piece of plastic that is connected to the bottom of the bumper. I contacted Flow and they told me that this piece of plastic is part of the bumper and cannot be removed. If it was possible to remove that piece, than the install would be a piece of cake.
Now I think I will have to remove the front bumper to install the lip as I do not have the facilities to raise the car up enough to get my hands inside of the bumper. From the research I have done, it doesn't seem like a huge task to remove the bumper and in YouTube videos it can be done in under 10min.
I was planning to try to install last weekend but due to a hangover I had to reschedule, hopefully will try this weekend weather permitting.



I painted it Black to hopefully give it a bit more of a OE look. It was a painting home job but didn't turn out too bad.

Mayhem, I'd be using that as an excuse to buy on of those professional looking hydraulic jacks from an auto shop!

wondering if 3M double tape would hold?

Hmm, having visions of front splitters detaching and sending F1 cars into walls. Its a little different on a road car, but regardless, I'd be aiming to make it pretty sturdy. A few bangs on driveways and it might not stay so solid with 3M tape alone.

No mate, 3M won't do the job on a Flow splitter, they are pretty heavy and solid. I wouldn't even trust self tapping screws for the job. I think it has to be a nuts and bolts.

I failed last weekend to do the DIY and I was too scared to remove the bumper. As Flow doesn't have any preferred installers in Adelaide. I might just wait for the next time I go to Melbourne to get one of their preferred guys to do the job. I've contacted 3 places in Melbourne and got quoted between 100-200 for the install.

May I ask how you painted the splitter and what you used?

I installed mine this afternoon.
I removed the torx screws in the underside of the front bar (centre only, not the two on the outer ends), removed the middle under tray (it's screwed in the very centre) and the two side pieces in front of the wheels.

It was straight forward to install then by reaching in the back of the front bumper cover.

The whole job took about an hour, and honestly most of that was trying to work out which bits to take off - in the end, it was simpler to remove all of the underside stuff than stuff around and try not to. And the bar cover got to stay 100% in place and not removed.

Sorry I didn't get any progress shots.

I installed it on the weekend not, too bad of an install, just need to remove all the screws and pop off the bumper, I should have taken pics for a how-to. sorry, also got it nano coated by western sydney detailers.

Hi has anyone got a few photos of the installed splitter close up, I'm going to give the install a go my self on my R
want to install without removing the bumper.
