Wow! That's an interesting move.... hope it lives up to the hype.

The Golf wagon should be a lot better in the corners - about 1 ton less to change direction.

Ordered at $66k flat drive away with all options ticked in Lapiz - only option is Panoramic sunroof.
    Late Sep dealership delivery.

I believe it only gets darkened tail lenses (there is no wagon OEM LED assembly?)

No bad thing, the Mk7 LED tails look good off, but look pretty cheap when lit up - the Mk6 ones were a lot better.

What's with the standard tail lights instead of the fancy pants LEDs?

Can u pm me which dealer you got the deal from. Another dealer i called up reckons they havent got pricing yet. Have yet tp contact other dealers. What bothers me the most is that the cars just sell itself and the salesman dont really care as i was told its preorder.

Those Wolfsburg Editions will be sought after - the Pretoria upgrade is priceless alone.

Limestone grey plus black Pretorias is a win. And that pricing is a lot more sensible than some of the crap the VW sales kiddies have been feeding some members on here.

I ordered a Golf R wagon with sunroof for $61k (+registration and stamp duty). I understand that whilst these initial Wolfsburg edition deliveries to Australia are limited, there may be more (standard specification) depending on demand: Volkswagen Golf R Wagon: Australian Launch Locked For October | The Motor Report

It isn't worth $30k over a Skoda RS wagon unless you realllllllly needed the AWD.

Pity Skoda don't do a version loaded for $55k.

The wagon would have been nice for space, but given a nicely optioned S3 sedan is under $75k I was happy to sacrifice the extra cargo room.

Unless VW HQ restrict supply worldwide, and there is no indication of this despite a little scare mongering by a few of the VW sales kiddies by the looks of it, so surely VWA will be happy to ship you one in six months for a more sensible ask.

    Well put Dutch77.
I think i'll take my chances and wait it out.
$65K maybe ill do it, But @ $75K is too much for a Golf.
I'm sure that opens up so much more choice new and used...

Assumed when I logged interest in the vehicle discounting would be difficult, but surely $75k is an Aprils Fool joke?

Glad I didn't wait around, anything over $65k for a loaded vehicle is robbery.

They may however hold value a little better than the usual crap resale on the hatches if they leave the order as a one off - they haven't had a product like it since the R36 and there is obviously a bit of pent up demand there. If they do decide to keep it on the roster then the early adopters will get torched on values once the prices return to sensible levels. If it's the car you want though guess its a case of weighing up the pricing risk.

Good to see South Yarra VW were real keen on making a sale as well given they never followed up as promised, in that regard it's great to see yet another VW dealership fail completely in the sales test.

I'm told they won't discount, limited supply means the odds are in the dealers favour. It's a rip off noting I just got a loaded R hatch for sub 60 (before the my16 announcements), surely they are not worth a $10k premium?
