I got away without them. Your options are very limited. You need the Thule K-summit K33.

The guys sell and hire them. K Summit Snow Chain - Thule - Village Ski & Snowboard
You can confirm the sizing for 235/35R19 here: http://www.villageski.com.au/ksummit.pdf

I'm tempted to buy some steelies with a more chain-compatible profile.

The Golf will be more fun around the windey bits and get us there quicker without vomiting, but the Disco has more space for passengers and luggage, and diesel is built for long distance driving. Snow chains and gravel carpark ditches also less likely to be a problem with the Disco. But the heart says take the sportwagon...
Honestly sounds like you've already made your mind up. Take the golf and have fun.....

Yep, I agree. At first I was a bit annoyed but they're almost impossible to get to when I want to clean them so tinting them would be very difficult.

Now that my R is 7 months old, I don't even notice them being clear.

Sorry don't have anyone to recommend as I got my car tinted at the dealership (and they couldn't do the front small pillar windows) but i don't even notice that they're not tinted or don't match the rest of the tinted windows - so I'm not sure if it's worth going to all the trouble to find someone to get them done.

You clearly don't like to stand out in a crowd do you, or do you have inside information that war is about to break out?

Certainly different, promotional tool for a business?

    Cheers
