    I understand there's a small number of MY16 GTI's + PP's on the way.
I won't know until the end of the week when I might get my car - earliest the end of Sept, latest date - who knows.
September isn't too bad, I test drove the wrx straight after, with the amount of interstate driving I'll be doing, the golf felt like the better choice..

Did they say when you could expect to receive it?

Spoke to my dealer as I am looking to replace my MY10 Golf R with an MY16 Gti. Was quoted $56.5k for a Gti (non-PP) with all options, which was also a little higher than I thought it would be. They said the MY16 won't be in the system to order for a few more weeks, and they won't be able to confirm final pricing until then. They did seem to know what stock they had coming in though, with some available for delivery in mid-late August.
2010 MY10 Golf R (Sold) - 5 Door, DSG, Rising Blue, Leather, ACC, Satnav, Dynadio, Sunroof, MDI, Electric Seat.
2015 MY16 Golf GTI - 5 Door, DSG, Carbon Grey, Leather, Sunroof, DAP.

How does it come to that... the website comes to 52.8K with all options.

The very first question I asked.... The website price is still for the MY15, which should be $1000 dearer..... But includes significant discounting in order to move MY15 stock as everyone will want MY16 now. Or that's what I was told.

Doing the maths though, based on the new $40990 listed in the article in this thread-
          DSG $2500
          3 Options $6500
          Metallic Paint $500
          Rego $350
          CTP $600
          Stamp duty $1450

          $52890

So...... $3610 dealer delivery? I think $3000 is the norm so it's in the ballpark. A discount off that was offered straight up, I guess it's worth them trying, maybe someone will pay full price one day....

I have an MY16 110tsi Highline due in August so you'd have to think there's every chance the cars they have arriving in August will be MY16 cars as well. I think it's a little odd they cant finalize your order now.

                $56k for a GTI?! That's R territory..

Given they've been working on MY16s since end of May it's surprising they won't spit out more details besides their desperate need to exit MY15 stock.

If you're not fussed on the MY16 upgrades I'd push the dealers hard on a MY15 deal.

Be careful of their BS too. When I called to ask if my car (ordered early May) would be a MY15 or MY16, after calling me back he said it was a MY16 and was due to hit the assembly line next week and should be delivered late September, or early October. He then went on to tell me that it unfortunately meant the price had changed for the worse. As in he was looking to charge me more for a car I had already ordered....

I thought to myself that the Performance Package was actually $2k cheaper, but just said it was a lease and the paper work was signed so nothing could change anyway (price wise at least). He said he wasn't so sure about that (wtf?) and started looking it up on his computer. A few moments later he came back and said I was lucky because only the base GTI and the R had changed, and that even though I was getting "all this extra stuff" (2 changes...woohoo) the performance had stayed the same price. I didn't want to start a **** fight with the guy so I left it alone. The fact is if I didn't have a clue about what I was doing he'd have tried to rip me out of $2k.

Hopefully he wasn't pulling my leg on the model year as well.

Well the thing is the previous 2015 "Driveaway price" that VW was advertising on their website for the GTI-PP is less than the 2K price reduction that is now on the new MY16 build cars.

If I'd known this I would have waited. Will be giving him a call tomorrow to see where I stand as I really wanted CarPlay. I only got a PP to get Xenons and now they're available on the base GTI.
                      Hang on.

So how much should we expect to negotiate for driveaway for GTI DSG MY16 no options (except the new features)

Make sure you have it in writing, so if anything does happen you have something to back you up.

VW gave me a price today for a MY16 $49,500 drive away for golf gti pp with mats and tint. You guys reckon that's a good deal? Delivery end of August.

My dealer won't talk price until the end of the week when the official pricing comes through in the 'system' apparently. That price sounds about $4000 off full price I think? I'd say it's a good (not awesome though) price for what will be one of the first MY16's. I doubt anyone will get an awesome price while demand for MY16's is high.
