                • Ladies and Gents.. would a Golf R MK7 have the same wheel clearance as an Audi S3? Basically trying to assure myself that I can replicate this ( Audi S3 Lightweight Wheels - Koya SF02 - Rollingstock ) without major modifications to wheel wells etc. I did check the tyre size calculator and this set up has a very close overall diameter/width to the OEM setup. So thinking it would be ok? Thanks in advance.

edit: on the S3 they have 17x9 and 235/45/17

Hard to say on that pic; Audi did use that design in many sizes and models over the years but generally the space between each (twin) spoke was greater on the OEM wheel.

The fitment of the VW cap would indicate they may be OEM, however mobs like Hartmann do a version of this wheel that are designed to take the cap as well.

The tyre size is ok and yes the R/S3 are generally going to run pretty much similar deals, but a x 9 wheel will need some significant suspension work/camber to get it tucked in and not creating rub.

Can be done but will need the right people working on it to make it legal.

Thats what I suspected too. So then should I go for it..... Or try to decide on something in 18" - I was really set on the sf02 but they only come in a maximum 17"

What are you actually looking to achieve from the switch.. presuming track work?

Could consider Enkei RPF1 or the Rays Gramlights 57 Extreme which come to mind with similar design and do have 18 inch versions?

Brake caliper clearance can be issue with 17s albeit I am assuming if those were working on the S3 they were ok.

Nope no track work for me. It's just aesthetics. I can't seem to find a wheel that i like. I also think 19" looks a tad too big on our cars. I thought about sf02 in 17x8 but then I am concerned the wheel would look different again. Ultraleggeras seem like a sensible option but perhaps a bit too common.. Help... lol.

Ultraleggeras are definitely do-able.. and can join my possible group buy.

I think to get the 17s working you'll need something pretty extreme like those 17 x 9s, but then you need to be working with someone who can get it running legal as well.

Otherwise 18s might be the way to go, and certainly keeps a lot more brands in the picture budget wise.

                              Volk RE30 and Enkei RPF1:

                              • The aptly named Rotiform Six wheels, from a few more angles - maybe another alternative on the black six spoke Alex31 (albeit unlikely to be lightweight):
