Thanks guys, just shows the forum community can help each other.
I now have V2 maps but didn't have to resort to showing or mentioning this website. Went and saw the guy who sold me the car and he was very good, helped me out. After-sales support still very good.





Also actually used the maps for the first time today as i went down to moonah links to play golf. The system still cannot say most of street names and can't even say "road"! It is like Roooeeeaadd. Stupid.
But i love how the navigation switches to the screen where the speedo is.
Loving the car more and more!

I am at the dealership now. They are like we give whatever maps come with the car. But I mentioned people got V2 maps that got the car before and after me.
They are checking on it now.

Kennyc: If you are there now, show them the pics of the latest software. If they still refuse, ask them why the folk on this forum are more knowledgeable than their own mechanics!

Does the v2 of the sat nav card make any difference to the reported sat nav problems?

Brendan_A: Thanks for the response. Just one more question-please. Many folk here have mentioned the appalling voice pronunciation that happens on VW's current sat nav facility. I've experienced this first hand. Did you find that voice pronunciation was changed (i.e. any better) when the V2 maps were installed?

Tbh I haven't used it to navigate anywhere yet lol. I'll have a play around with it on the week end and let you know.

I do know the v2 maps have improved because it will navigate to this street in Brisbane where the v1 maps it wouldn't. That's the only thing I've checked so far.

Brendan_A : I don't suppose that the dealer allows you to retain the old "VI" sd card when the "V2" upgrade is done?

Definitely call - My car was delivered last week with V2.
