He got back to me and said there are no updates at this stage, but clearly people are getting V2 maps.

Barloworld Volkswagen in Glen Waverley.
He could be spinning a line to me but i asked him again when i was picking up the car and he said, Yes free map upgrades.
I don't have it in writing though so i guess i will find out on my first service next year.

Traffic Message Channel (TMC) activation via VCDS/VAGCOM

G'day all, a friend of mine (GeckoZAO) told me that many of the Golf MK7 do not have TMC (Traffic Message Channel) working.

5F-Adaption, Follow the screen shot. and you have to make sure RDS and TP is enabled in the settings and wait for about 40mins. The traffic report will start come.

That was the whole point of them switching to the SD-card based system after all, wasn't it?

I correct myself, I put a V1 in a golf r today to test and it worked. But V2 in pre nov13 doesnt.

So how do people with pre nov13 update the maps?

V1 is for cars pre november 2013 built

V2 from then on.

Brendan i dont know how yours works. They cant be swapped around, it comes up invalid navigation data.

My car is December built and should have came with v2, that's why they swapped them over.

It was very easy to do, remove sd card and put in v2 sd and they loaded up and all works fine.
