        • I have the DA pack. Best $1300 I've ever spent. ACC is just so good, economy driving mode has me doing long term average of 5l/100km, Park assist is - well cool

          • Thanks for that Baz, good to hear.

I am surprised that the price is so little, when you compare the features you get with the DA and the headlights, but the headlights are nearly $1000 more...

The Bi-Xennon's are worth every penny. Shame they don't come with the LED tail lights as in Europe

agreed! loving the headlights! so good!
and yes, best $1300 spent ever, ultimate value...

btw, for these who have driver assist, in driving mode, if you select 'eco' engine, do you get coasting when you release the throttle?
coasting is such a good feature but only available in eco mode.
i really like the cornering light (fog light) but they wont work in eco mode! and we cannot change the settings for eco, normal or sport modes.

                • Recently took a three day driving holiday in Tasmania. Was happy when my Europcar 'golf or similar' was actually a golf! I have to say it is the best car I have ever driven, the suspension and handling were amazing, I also had immense fun navigating all the corners and bends and sharp rises and falls of the roads through the national parks down there and the golf took it all in its stride and was just a pleasure to drive! i was sad to drop it back off at the airport yesterday, I felt like after three days I had a bond with it! Would highly recommend hiring a mk7 golf and cruising around Tassie!

I drove around Tassie twice for about 12 days each in my own car. Once getting on the Spirit of Tasmania leaving Sydney (shame they canned that boat) and once leaving Melbourne. It was the WRX at the time but the most awesome driving experience ever driving down there (windy twisty 80km zones everywhere). I couldn't imagine in 3 days you could have seen too many places, but I guess you got a taste of it.

                    • I did as much as I could in the time, went up from launceston across the top through devonport, burnie up to wynyard then down the west coast through queens town and back to hobart, also did a trip out to port arthur and on the last day from hobart to launceston through richmond and campbell town and perth etc. But agree completely about the roads!

You could also do it yourself using stuff called Skinz that you can get from places like SuperCheap Auto. You just cut to fit and apply it with warm water and a squeegee. I've used it on motorcycles and cars and will be putting it on my new Golf when it's delivered.

I should note that I have no connection with either Skinz or SuperCheap.

                          • Thanks Kevin-67, I'll try that. I also got a quote from Exclusive Wraps that mumbles mentioned a couple of pages back and that came to $250 also.

                            • I am considering ordering a Highline TDI. Because I want some extras, like the driver assistance package and maybe leather, I realise it will need to be a factory order for a 2014 manufactured car, with the chance of quite a delay before delivery. What does anybody think might be the best time to initiate the order process to attract enough interest from dealers that they might consider some degree of discount. My thought is maybe in late March the sales people might be keen to achieve their quotas. Any views please?

The current pricing on VW's web site appears to be driveaway pricing aimed at run out of 2013 stock. Am I correct in this assumption?

Well, it looks like I asked a difficult question, because nobody has offered a view in response. On the other hand, my question may have been considered too dumb for anybody to waste time on. Any views please? Otherwise I will have to rely on whatever the dealers are saying this week.
