I wonder if all the 7.5 R w'burgs delivered so far have been white without sunroof ? Just speculating whether VW are building them in batches (or have supply problems with sunroofs as well as active displays).

Would have to say so, I've sadly spent too much time in various dealerships across two states and haven't seen a single blue or black wolfie yet, nor white with a sunroof. Carsales listings would agree too that the wolfies are all getting built in batches.

but according to the link its still says on "order" :\

Picking up my R on Monday!
I was enquiring about the 2 years extra factory warranty and have been quoted $2050 for it.
Someone on here said they got it for about $1400. Is $2050 too much? He said the price is from VW Aus and can't drop it and that if someone paid $1400 then it isn't the factory one?
Should I go for it or too much?

Hard call Kenny. Depends how long you plan to keep the car, and maybe if you plan to modify it in that time. If you change cars every three years, say, I probably wouldn't bother too much. I plan to keep mine for 4 years, so went the factory extended warranty (my extra warranty was part of the deal, so I don't really know what I may have been able to secure as a price without it anyway), so that it "leaves something" for the next guy, and I have hassle free motoring the whole time. Whether the end value makes up for the whatever initial cost I may have paid is hard to know, but that was my logic anyway. Not totally motivated by the financial equation, but line ball between no hassles and some perceived end benefit - real or imaginary.

Enjoy your new car when it arrives. Will be awesome I think! Good luck with your deliberations on warranty, and enjoy basking in that new car excitement...

If you do want it then the genuine VW Oz warranty (not the Allianz "VW" warranty) has to be purchased BEFORE you take delivery of the car - so you need to decide pronto.

Yes, I'm aware of this.
Dealer said I can buy it at time of pickup and he confirmed the Factory Warranty not the insurance one.
I think I will get it as if I do end up selling the car after 3 or 4 years then the extra warranty will help with the sale.

Does the price seem excessive though or pretty much on par?

That is a question only you can answer. I decided against buying it, figuring if it gets through the first 3 years without issues then I will hopefully make it through the next 2 years as well. I was quoted $1,800.00 for mine.

I was quoted 1799 on a My18 wolfsburg wagon.

Just a note. The factory extended is still provided by Allianz, its just backed by VW.
It is a full mirror of the VW Factory warranty, with no extra limitations.

Also, anyone here with a car on the boat Tulane? Docked 2/10 and unloaded 3/10, im still waiting for any update from my dealer, as they are saying they cannot see any updates.
