Hi
My first post as I have just come to terms on my first ever Golf (and my first ever new car!!)
My very first car ever was a 1963 VW Beetle. I have loved them since I was little.
Spent the weekend test driving various cars in the Golf size category but knew I was in love when I drove the Golf.
I am getting a Golf Trendline Auto MY17 in Tungsten Silver. Have opted for the DAP pack as well. Paying $26750 driveaway do you think that was an ok price?
Using their finance as well on the 3.8% with the 5 year warranty.
I am so excited to be a VW driver again and I am sure I will be back in with lots of stupid questions.
Are there any extras that they will try and sell me tomorrow that will actually be worthwhile (tint etc)

Hey all,
New to the forum. I've previously had a 2007 Polo GTI, and am currently in the market for a new Golf.
My current best price has been from a dealer in Sydney and just wanted to check to see what people thought:
New MY16 Golf 92TSI Comfortline in white, with the driver assistance package, as well as upgrading to 18 inch Rotary wheels, plus official VW rubber floor mats, boot liner, front and rear mud flaps. Drive away $31,490.
If anyone thinks that I should be going elsewhere let me know, thinking about going ahead pretty soon.
Cheers and thanks in advance,
Chris

Hi all,
My new Golf has landed at Port Kembla and with the track n trace shows "discharged from" this afternoon. Any idea how quickly it might get to the dealer in Sydney?
The original quoted scheduled delivery date was 5 Nov, but a couple of weeks ago they said it would be around 12 Nov (although shipping dates to Port Kembla only slipped one day in that time). I've been without a car for a few weeks so keen as, and the dealer has been a bit crap across the board, so wondering if it's realistic to hassle them for delivery this weekend?
Cheers and TIA
Matt

Typically it'll be anywhere from 7-14 days from when the car is ready for compliancing (i.e. off the boat), to when it arrives at the dealership, but can be less or more in exceptional circumstances. The dealer has no control over this process but can report to you where the car is at. Once they get the car it usually takes 2-5 days for pre-delivery work, although that can be expedited in some cases (you'll need to push your dealer for that).
So you'll need to hold on a while longer. The average time from "discharged" to owner is about 3 weeks.2008 MkV Volkswagen Golf R32 DSG

Hi all,
Back on the Vdub bandwagen, after a couple of years in the Subaru wilderness. Picking up an MY16 Deep Pearl Black GTI this afternoon (2 and a half hours from now, not that im counting). Dealt with Brighton VW here in Vic, and theyve been utterly brilliant, cant recommend them highly enough.
