Just placed an order on a MK7 GTI in Pure White with DSG & sunroof to replace the 4 year old MK6 version. I've had a really good run from the MK6, 107000kms and only a water pump issue 2 months ago. Will be parting out some of the bolt on goodies in the next week or so.

Really impressed with the trade value I got, 3k more than redbook valuation and $47500 driveaway price on the new one. Will pick her up in the next two or three weeks.

Yep! The 2 weeks waiting for my R last year was super painful!

Yes I couldn't go past it really. At my age I don't really need anything else, not that I get to drive it more than 10% of the time. Still gives me a smile every time I drive the MK6. I figured the extra 3K on the trade may have been a pat on the back for all the hours I've spent cleaning her
I told them at the dealership it was cleaner now than when I picked it up.

It has been a while mate! I would definitely believe your Mk6 is cleaner and in every bit as good condition as on delivery. Any mod plans for the Mk7? I'm less of a fan of the R LEDs on the 7, I must say, and they seem to be a bit more expensive as a replacement part as well. I wonder if Andreas is still around...

New GTI 7 owner in WA

Hi Guys

Just picked up my carbon steel grey DSG mk7 today. located in Malaga, Perth WA. Glad to join the family and hope to know more of you, even better if anyone happens to be in Perth as well.

Sorry for asking help on day one, but anyone has any idea why my car with only 13km comes out with some kind of burning smell in the cabinet while i drove home from the dealership? anything i need to worry about?

welcome to the forum. Our Golf 7 110tsi, had the same burning smell for the first couple of weeks. The dealer said its a new car smell. Could be wearing in of the brakes. Its all go after a few weeks. However, if it is concerning you then there is no harm to let your dealer to check it out.

thanks for your comfort, i will see if it drives off in couple weeks. i suspect it was the new car smell, but i had few new cars before, none of them has the burning smell like this, maybe due to the new turbo?
