Seems a bit high. I paid close to that, a few months ago, for a Highline. No tint though.

Free floor mats ( $220??)

All in: 32,500

Also want to add Driver Assist, but not mentioned this to dealer yet.

Full retail price for that model in vic is $33,952 according to redbook (New Car Research - New Car Prices - Compare New Cars - RedBook.com.au), so i'd say getting >10% off is very good indeed.

$36K seems to be steep increase in price considering drop in power. Would have though it would only be marginal increase in price from out-going 118.

The mk7 is a very different car to the mk6. I have a mk7 and I've driven the mk6 a fair bit. The small drop in grunt is more than made up with weight lost and refinements in other areas. Worth the extra coin IMO.
