Looking good. However even though it looks wider than the MK6, it doesn't appear as muscular or aggressive. And the steering wheel hasn't got the chunky look of the MK6 either. Everything else about the interior I'm really liking.

I like...and by the time it comes here, I'll be ready for a upgrade.

The blurb accompanying the photo "The basic data are known: Under the hood gallop 220 hp with the optional performance package makes the two-liter turbo 230 hp. The torque of the more developed TFSI engine has increased by a whopping 70 to 350 Newton meters. At the same time, its consumption decreases by 1.3 to 6.6 liters. The performance figures speak for themselves: In 6.6 seconds of power golf runs to 100 km, a maximum of 246 km / h are possible"

        Sounds good

LOL!!!!!!!!! I really wouldn't mind getting the MK7. None of my neighbours or friends would know that I bought a new car. I do not want any attention what so ever. Awesome.

edit- I would try and remove that line through the lights. Pointless.

I like it! Shame it's very unlikely we'll ever see the 3dr in Australia.

164kW/350Nm and there's also a Performance Package for an extra 7kW.

Whats with that red line in the head lights?

I'm sorry to say that I don't really like it. The mixture of black and body-coloured elements in the front bar seems messy, busy and unresolved, and the red line through the headlights looks a bit naff. The steering wheel's got a touch of retro New Beetle wheel to it too.

Maybe it'll grow on me. Or I'll just wait for the R to be more impressed this time.

                  I agree with Adam.
The Mk7 GTI is very busy (weird split lower grill thing and 20 button steering wheel control).
I also don't like the weird circle inner steering wheel shape at all!

                    yup that'll do nicely!

think i'll keep the current 18" detroits though

like the stronger red in ther interior - real lights are better and can live with the front
Current ride - MKVI GTI, Candy White, 4 door, Detroits, DSG, BT
Previous VW - MK 1 Golf Clipper Convertible - 1993 - gone and now called Linda
Previous VW - MK 1 Golf GTI 1983, Lhasa Green, Perrielli P's, euro front look, gone but not forgotten

MKVI still the best looking Dunno what's with the red line across the headlights and it looks like it uses an electric handbrake instead of the stick.

Mk1 is still the best looking GTI.

Electronic handbrakes are the future I'm afraid.

Every Mk7 golf will use the e-handbrake button rather than a stick.

Has been used previously in the Tiguan, Eos and Passat.

Not really liking it atm, due to what was previously been said, "doesnt look aggressive enough' for the MKVI is aggressive and very masculine in appearance. Also whats with that redline continuing into the headlights Maybe a different colour of the body would allow us to see it differently, cause white is a very harsh colour and doesnt really attract people for that fact, red I think wouldve been slightly better to use.

they say that the GTi will have more power than the current Golf R, yet still has a slower 0-100km/h time (R-5.7sec/GTi 6.6sec) i find that a little bit strange

Still they have said that this is a concept soo....

The power is detailed above, it doesn't have more power than the current R. The current R is 188kW in Australia, 199kW elsewhere, the claim above is less than that even with the sports option. Not to mention all wheel drive grip will ensure good 0-100s for the R.
