Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

He would need to drop the price at least a couple of grand to make it even slightly attractive.

Hey guys,
would any of the Golf R, future Golf R owners be interested in this:
VW Golf 7 alle Modelle inkl GTI GTD Heckansatz Diffusor OETTINGER Heckblende | eBay
This item will fit the Golf R, GTi/GTD and any standard models according to the oettinger website
Shipping for one or two items is same price 98EURO, so buying two is better and cheaper
We don't have to pay the 19% MwSt so the price will be 121.5Euro + Shipping
Let me know

Just in case you can't read the German link it's for an Oettinger rear apron trim.
It'll also fit GTI (and GTD if we got it here).
I'd suggest you shouldn't have to pay the sales tax, but the website would have to be able to take it off in the checkout - either that or get sent an invoice minus the sales tax.

there's two different options there (on oettinger website), one is the full rear apron

and the one I posted is only the part that replaces the OEM rear diffuser.
I spoke to the supplier and she said that the diffuser fits the standard rear bumper.

Things I don't like about the R...
The Xenon high beams; average at best.
Start/Stop keyless button; it's annoying and a waste of money. They could have put the savings of that toward the decent in dash screen system.
Yes the list is short. (Which is a good thing)

What's the issue with the Start/Stop button? Does it work differently to other makes, or are you just old school and can't see the point of it? It seems this technology is now part of the new car landscape for many mainstream brands and models, so I think it's here to stay for a while.

On another note. Recieved my VWR springs today but theres a minor fault with the first batch that got sent out so ill have to wait a couple of weeks for VWR to send me front springs directly before fitting
My RD Technik tuning box is amazing and my DSG tune should arrive tomorrowcar really does have alot of potential.

I'm looking forward to the dynamic swiveling feature, which mine don't have, but not at the expense of reduced light output, if that's your concern.

The high beams just don't have a very good reach, and they seem quite dull. For example, a VE Commodore with standard halogen lights have a very good high beam in comparison. My daily driver is a 2012 Pajero, standard high beam is very good and in addition I've got Lightforce driving lights. Yes, I realise it's apples and oranges in both examples, but I had higher expectations of the Xenon in high beam. On low beam, I have absolutely no problem with and are very good and the swivelling is quite cool.
The start/stop button, I think it's a bit un-necessary. Maybe it's me being a bit old-skool. My main gripe with that would be that VGA found it more important to have a start/stop button than a decent nav screen. (I know that it comes down to a final landed in AU price)
One problem I did have with it was you'd pull up in your driveway and the auto stop/start would stop the car and pressing it again to stop (as you would turn off a key)... It started again! lol
Something to learn to live with I guess...
