the thing with the golf gti it will always be a wolf in sheeps clothing. so in dna it kinda has to have a touch of bland !

ps watched this review of the audi a3 sportback, described as a more expensive golf..based on ofcourse the mk7 golf platform.

First drive review: Audi A3 Sportback

clearly not golf gti competition. be interesting how they price it. one worrying thing they say is the 6 speed dsg isnt as quick snappy as previously hmm..
? I was talking about the Giulietta QV with a 6-spd manual and the 177kw 1.75l turbo engine which is why I thought it would be a good mk7 Golf GTI competitor. It's also only officially 4 seconds slower than a Focus RS and 5 seconds slower than a Cayman S around the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit. Not bad if you ask me.

But the depreciation is and will probably continue to be really REALLY bad compared to the Golfs. Also the GTI will probably be a lot easier to live with than a Giulietta too.
sigpic TRADED THE BEE'12 Sport Yellow/Black Citroen DS3 DSport THP155 6-spd manual w/ tech pack.

        • An Alfa Romeo is like a schizophrenic nymphomaniac supermodel. Lots of fun for short periods of time, great to look at, horrible to live with. Lol

indeed ! I would like to own an alfa one day I still think and the guilietta is a very nice car. its just that its due for an major update in 2013-2014 I understand so its a tough time to buy one. as not only will cop a the usual drop of resale also will drop further when it gets superceded !

I do love how MultiAir give the potential for inlet valve timing to be part of a remap

theyre optional AMG rims dh, but to be honest am not a big fan of black rims, prefer the stock amg rims on the a250 to be honest

haha well there you go. to me they always look dirty !

but yeah altogether the black rims do go well with the other black details on the car, mirors, roof, grills etc so can see lot liking for that reason in itself

Still not sure about the exterior styling, take the badges off and I'm pretty sure I'd think it was Kia or Hyundai. The more I look at the latest crop of hot hatches, the more I'm liking the look of the mk7 even more.

see am the opposite I see the golf mk7 and not convinced. whereas see some other new cars coming along that offer a bit more. rather than mk7 golf gti I think if was going golf gti again I would just keep my mk6 instead

                              • Makes the GTI and indeed the R look pathetic ants piss to be honest (and I've owned both)

Sure, more dollars but reliability a given, classy, looks actually good (as opposed to the bland Golf), fresh styling.

Best of all, not a peasants car. VW have failed to raise their game - same old boring bland and tired tech (and weak DSG)

I'm sold (but am looking at the AMG personally).
