TYRES FOR 19 X 8.5 Wheels

Hi What tyres for 19 x 8.5 + 44 wheels on a MK7.5 GTI Im thinking 245/40/19!

I had 235/35/19 on my Mk7 GTI with basically the same wheel specs (i think my offset was 42 instead of 44) and lowered on 034 Motorsport springs which was about a 30mm drop. I had some very light rubbing on the front guard plastic inner liner when going in/out of driveways, but otherwise perfect.

I think if you go with 245 tyres you will rub more.

Is your car lowered?

Thanks, Lucas, I actually meant 245/35/19 ...no NOT lowered so I think I will be ok, actually plan to at some stage put them on my other car a 2018 S3 ( not lowered) i assume if they fit the Golf they will fit the AUDI ?.

is that a logical thought ?

235/35/19 is the safe choice and is quite commonly used on the Golf platform. Your suggestion of a 245/35/19 should be ok with a car that is not lowered, but that extra 1cm of width and additional sidewall height might be enough to cause rubbing issues?? You wont get else much in the way of feedback on here so might be best to join a few Golf owners facebook groups and ask on there before making a decision.

The Audi S3 shares the same chassis and suspension as the Mk7 Golf, so any wheel you choose will be interchangeable between the 2x cars.
