Weird random stuff???

Hey guys,

Since the beginning of the week, I've had 2 weird things start occurring with my Golf wagon.

1) Rough cold startup (OBD11 scan shows random misfiring and then misfiring in most cylinders). After about a minute of giving it some fuel, it runs fine.
2) Radiator fan running constantly and going like crazy whilst stationary during driving. There are no fault codes for this and coolant is at correct level.

It recently had a major service which included new spark plugs etc. plus a couple of new ignition coils, and always run 98.

Any help/advice would be appreciated

It's a 1.4 TSI.

Just an FYI for others that might encounter the same symptoms. I took it to a local VW specialist and they scanned the car. They found I had a dodgy engine coolant temp sensor. Was replaced in 15 minutes and as a result, cooling fan now behaving like normal. Cold start as good as new now too. It was mentioned that the faulty sensor was telling the car it was already warm and not providing enough fuel and hence the lumpy start. I know where I'll be going to get my car sorted from now on...

I have VCDS and OBD11 and I find the OBD11 very frustrating to use. I just keep it in the car for any emergencies but my main and trusty tool is VCDS.

Funny that - I just read this thread and I was going to say that usually the coolant fan running constantly is a result of a coolant temp sensor being faulty. A pretty common fault across all models so would have been relatively easy to diagnose and fix.
