Hi All,
I'm looking for a roof rack and have come across some second hand Thule bars for cheap, but they are 110cm length.

The Thule website lists the bar length needed as 127cm, however I am wondering if the 110cm bar can be mounted but without the overhang you usually get with the Thru Bar design. I've measured the widest point between the 'channels' on the Golf (hatch) and it is just shy of 110cm.
Hoping someone who has a similar set up will be able to comment if it's feasible. I'll be sourcing the required mounting kit separately.
