  • Retrofit Petrol Exhaust Into Diesel Car

    Hi all,

I plan to retro a Golf 7R wagon exhaust system onto my TDI wagon for the dual exhaust appearance. Is this possible?

Anything is possible, but whether it is practical, a good idea or even illegal I can't say.

Changing complete exhausts like that may affect both roadworthy and insurance.

You might be better off getting an 4 outlets welded on to your existing exhaust system by a decent exhaust fabricator.

BTW IMO 4 exhaust tips on a 2 litre 4 cyl engine is way over the top. I had an old bloke ask me if my R was a V12 after he saw the 4 tips on my R, he was very surprised when I told him what engine it actually had.

If it physically fits, its certainly possible. beyond the DPF, nothing really different in the construction of an exhaust petrol v diesel.

I run an exhaust for a TDI Amarok on my TSI Amarok .... no issues.

You could have said .... yeah, its only a 2.0l 4 but it sure goes like a V12 ....
