Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VW Golf 7 2014 year lights problem

    Hello guys,

I have VW Golf 7 2.0tdi with bi-xenon headlights and auto function on my lever.

I want to know, is there any option, when the car is running on sunny day and my DRL's are ON, rear lights are ON too, but i want to be only from DRL's ON ?

When its sunny day DRL's front/rear and interior lights are ON. I want on sunny day DRL's to be ON only on front and when the night come, to switch the lights in interior, back lights and headlights ON.

As I see the other cars by the day, work only front DRL's

@ConfusedGolf: Based entirely on your description (and, if I understand your words correctly), I'm guessing that your car has "Scandinavian DRLs" enabled.

    Try this:

    [09] Cent. Elect.
    Security Code: 31347
Adaptation channel: Tagfahrlicht-Dauerfahrlicht aktiviert zusaetzlich Standlicht > not active

    Don
Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the wider expertise of other forum members! Thank you.

Why worry at least the cars behind can see you which is the whole idea of having them.

We in Australia enable them because on wet days idiot drivers think that having front DRl's on renders them visible.

They can see but who can see them from behind.

In some European countries they are compulsory so I would check before disabling them

Is one of the most sensible things you can have and first mod I made to my cars. To turn them off is Foolish in my eyes

        Hey Don :

This this is enabled, because when I disable it, all lights are off during the day, include the front drl's.

        Hillbilly :

I drive in Europe and having all lights during the day isn't ok. That's why I want to have the lights like from the factory, but someone is messed with the codding maybe ..

Is there a law against it or just your personal preference. I have never seen anywhere say you CANT do it and nowadays a lot of countries mandate DRL's and make them safety devices which are illegal to turn off.

I would sooner be seen and called a numpty than be hit up the arse and proved to be one for the opposite reason

Probably some one sensible changed them
