Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Best VW mechanic in Melbourne

    Hi all

I’m sure it’s been done to death but they seem to be relatively old threads.

Does anyone have advice on the best VW mechanic in Melbourne for the 2 year service on my Golf GTI?

I’d taken it to VW for the first service but want nothing but the best for my baby.

I’m in Brunswick, so Volkswerke, Volkstech and Volks Affair seem to be the closest.

Note: I’ve tried German Technik on a previous car and didn’t have the best experience so keen to avoid them

    Cheers!

I’ve been to Volks Affair for the first two services and have been satisfied with them. Second one is not a major service compared to the next two (45, 60). I know cost is not a deciding factor but for me it came to $510, which included replacing all the wiper blades and the cabin air filter. The coolant was tested and said to be ok until next service.

Hi, I'm also looking at servicing in Melbourne, what was the cost without the wiper blades/cabin air filter?

The first service was $315. This included tyre rotation that I requested

The second service without cabin air filter/wiper blades parts was $425
