Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • mk7 golf side skirt repair suggestions/ cost estimation

    Hi group

I accidentally curbed my mk7 golf just then and leave a quite deep dent/scratch on my side skirt(or sill panel, sorry for not knowing the exact name of the part), i was wondering can anyone recommend a good place in sydney to fix it, preferable near airport or cbd, but i don't mind travel a bit. And what cost should i be expected, thanks a lot!

Sill panel is the correct word to describe that part of the car. From looking at the photos, it appears you have only scrapped the rock chip coating that is applied to that sill panel area of the car.

Not really necessary to have this repaired as its cosmetic only and basically hidden considering where its located, but literally any body shop could tidy that up for you if you wanted to have it fixed up.
