Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Anyone used Rim Ringz?

    Just wondering if anyone has used these and what their thoughts are.

    I'm looking at it purely to protect the rims. Have recently gotten an R Wagon and have an older Tiguan (which has some kerb damage despite having 360* camera).

    Saw this video so have low hopes: FINAL REVIEW after 4 weeks use: Rim ringz's don't work - YouTube

    Otherwise what other options other than choosing a tyre with a built in rim guard.

    Any thoughts and feedback appreciated!

    Looked at them saw the reviews didnt think they would help much as if you mash wheel against a kerb a bit of plastic wont last long. Seems some brands cause the tyres to seat badly as well.
