I finally decided on where to mount my bass control knob.

I read a couple of threads that had bass control knobs mounted in various places (under handbrake, in cubby, etc) I didn't really like any of those.
My car has no instrument dimmer switch so I was able to use the vacant panel to mount it.
Very happy with the look.
