Email Notifications Failing (mostly Telstra)

Hello everyone. Seems there is an issue with Telstra (possible others) blocking email from our server. If you are trying to sign up I would suggest a different email if possible. If you're trying to reset your password and it fails please use the Contact Us page:

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Discover Pro pin message

Have updated my iphone to ios 13 (maybe totally unrelated?) but now whenever I start the car the Discover Pro screen asks for a user pin when it tries to connect to my phone. Haven't ever seen this message before but it appears now every time I start up.
Anyone know what the "user pin" is referring to? Is it the phone password, the system password(?) or something different? It doesn't suggest how many digits or give any other info. I tried different pins (0000 or 1234) and my phone password with no success (I just get "please wait" and it seems to go into an infinite loop). Now I don't enter a pin at all but choose OK. It then says that I cannot connect and asks again for a pin. Rinse and repeat and eventually the phone connects. It's an annoying nag.. A hard reset does not fix the issue. Any ideas?

hmm...... are you sure that it's not asking for the PUK (personal unlock key)? It's an 8 x digit number but it's not normally necessary for pairing with the phone - just a guess.

To find the individual PUK for your SIM card:
    • Look at the box that your SIM card came in, and the PUK code should be listed somewhere on the box or label.
    • Look at your retailer's website for your account detail. For example My Telstra website has the PUK listed for each SIM card that registered on your account.

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the wider expertise of other forum members! Thank you.

Thx Don. Problem is that it doesn't give any indication as to what particular pin is required. Really odd as phone has always connected seamlessly. Might need to unpair the phone and start again from scratch and see if that makes any difference.

Delete the Bluetooth pairing from the phone, and re-pair to the unit. Fixed the same issue on both my wife’s and my car when we installed ios13.
        Cheers

Have re-paired phone to unit and can confirm that this works.

It would have been nice if the prompt included what the PIN was for!!!

I have exactly the same problem here in the UK. I too uninstalled and reinstalled the Bluetooth and all was well until randomly the PIN request appears again. Touch screen locks up too. Happened again yesterday until I had a phone call when miraculously everything was OK.
