  • RPM “bog down” at full throttle in 4th (DSG)

    Hi all,

I’m new to all this but just recently I have encountered (from what I can explain) a bog down in RPM just before 4000RPM in 4th under load and full throttle.

Never seemed to have this issue before until just now. Also seems like there’s a slight hesitation in pulling power up until that point.

Once the RPM stagnates at that point, it then recovers up to redline.

I know this might also sound really stupid. But previously I used to get a real prevalent “DSG fart” even at lower RPM under not much load in sports mode using the paddles. It’s no where near distinct anymore. High RPM yes, but not at lower RPM.

Vehicle is a 2015 MK7 Golf R and has a stage 2 APR ECU tune and an APR TCU tune.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

        Sorry mate, it’s a 2015 MK7 Golf R.

I’ve had the APR tune now for over a year and I’ve only noticed it now. Definitely seems different.

^^^^do you have a diagnostic cable/dongle? If so, have you checked for throttle body leaks (might have alignment problems)?

Yeah I’ve taken it to my local VW mechanic who scanned it and he said there were no hard faults logged. I’m taking it back this week to have the latest revision APR tune loaded and I guess we will have to carry out some more trouble shooting. Just thought I would see if anyone on here has experienced the same issue.
