  • Mk7 R turbo Muffler delete

    Hi everyone,

Been looking into turbo Muffler delete options for my 2015 mk7 golf R. Already have an APR intake + stage 1 tune, turbo inlet pipe and mid pipe upgrade, but was looking for a bit more sound from the turbo. Any suggestions on the best turbo Muffler delete or if it’s a waste of money? Seem to go for anywhere between $150-$250. Cheers,

    Scott.

Most will say it's not worth it for the tmd. I installed it with the intake package with Racingline and am happy with it but more because it came with the package.

I would say most look the same and do a similar job as well.

      Have a read here. Racingline Turbo Muffler Delete VWR E 16G7TDEL - MK7 GTI/R, 8V S3, 5E VRS - Harding Performance

Some definite positives there. I also think they are all mostly the same , providing you get a one piece machined unit.

I have exactly the same setup as you on a 2018 7.5 Golf R. I have installed the IE muffler delete. I cannot tell any difference but perhaps I'm going deaf in my old age. Either way I felt I could have put the money to better use on other mods first.

From what I have read various places, the intake muffler delete is simply not worth the coin. Undetectable intake noise change, no change in power etc.
