  • Turbo Fail

    Hi All

My MK7 Golf R has a blown turbo. Has anyone in Sydney had the same issue and replaced their turbo???
If so, what did you pay? I just want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off.

    Any help appreciated.

I haven’t had it done. But I’ve mentally rehearsed what I’d do.

    I’d go stage 3.
Mk 7 R Wagon Wolfsburg. APR Stage 1. Removable towbar.

I have a TTE475 for sale which would be a great stage 3 upgrade to what you have.

Interesting, would it be a straight bolt on and would it still be suitable for a stock car or stage 1?

TTE475 is a straight bolt-on as it's a hybrid IS38 (upgraded high flow internals). You'd probably want to at least do a DP at the same time and upgraded intake (or snowgrate mod and high flow panel filter on the stock airbox).

I have a TTE475 on my Tiguan 162 and response is not far off a stock IS38 but at top-end there's some decent gains.

Probably find you a good serviceable core at work. We have sent the housings to be modified and keep the cores if not damaged. Pm me if interested.

Sorry to hear! Was it an early revision of the IS38?
