^^^ I bet that VW assist didn't bother to tell the network module in your car that it now has a new battery and to stop charging/discharging it as if it was a battery of the age of the previous battery. I bet that they simply physically swapped new-for-old and just drove away- without plugging a device into the OBD port near the accelerator pedal?

^^^^yes - it's relatively easy to check: go to the CAN Gateway module @ address hex19, select adaptation-16, search for "MAS06108" and select IDE03256-MAS06108-Battery adaptation-Battery Serial Number. The factory setting for the original battery would have been 1111111111 (i.e. hexFF) - if the setting is still hexFF, then likely the CAN network is oblivious to the fact that the car now has a new battery!
