Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Bottom of the B-Pillar? Can't remember which side.

They probably just want to know if you have 50mm or 55mm strut diameter.

    If you have a GTI it's 55mm

I found on the AwesomeGTI website there is 4 options in AP Coilovers - 2 options in 50mm (1060kg OR 1061-1170kg) and 2 options in 55mm (1060kg OR 1061-1170kg). Anyone have an idea on which one??

The 50mm strut is for 77TSI - 118TSI. The GTI and R (and i believe TDI's but not 100%) use the larger 55mm diameter strut.

TDI are heavier in the front (diesel engines are heavy) and both the R32 and R models are also heavier in the front due to engine/gbox config for the AWD systems.

Thanks Lucas I was aware that for the GTI they were the 55mm struts but what about weight?? would GTI's be the 1060kg and TDI & R's be the 1060-1170kg?
