Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Howdy partners.

I have the opportunity to grab some second hand alloy lower control arms and subframe brackets for my MK6 GTI.

I'm still learning, so I'm not sure what the value of these items are, or the benefit that these will add to my car. I'm hoping that I can get some help from the community to see what sort of offer I should make and whether there are other mods that would be more worthwhile for my otherwise stock MK6 GTI.

The control arms look a lot like SuperPro Supaloy Alloy Lower Control Arms...

I was able to get the part number 1k0199295e, which when searched brings up a result from ECS showing an OEM part.

    Thanks.

They are probably Passat, S3 or TT control arms that have had a bit of a polish.

The Superpro arms complete with nolethene adjustable bushes & console housing could be had new for around $500 last time I looked. What they are worth now is up to you.

Judging by the presentation, the owner isn't overly concerned about achieving maximum value. I'd offer $200-$300
