Oil on Alternator

Hi All,

Was changing the oil filter on my 77TSI Golf 2012 which is mounted directly above the alternator. Whilst changing the filter a small amount of oil spilt onto the alternator. Is this going to cause me any major issues or is a small amount nothing to worry about.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Not too worry John, just use some brake cleaner and get it out of there as best as possible. In future use a rag under the oil filter to cover the alternator etc, loosen the filter afew turns and wait 5 minutes for it to drain inside the housing then you wont have this problem, just don't forget to remove the rag afterwards.
