Has anyone in aus done it? if so what did you use? standard remote or a aftermarket system

I haven't seen it done, however it would most likely seriously reduce the security of your vehicle. For remote start to work the immobilizer/reader coil would have to be bypass(because the key would not be in the car), which would mean anyone could pretty much hot wire the car.
That is unless technology has moved to the point that new systems send the immobilizer info over a wifi with the remote start system, but i doubt that.Volks Handy

I remember a few years ago someone doing it to a Golf and it involved moving the ignition barrel to inside the dash so it was hidden, with the key in it to bypass immobiliser etc, I remember reading it thinking, 'too hard'.......'11 GTI - Seats - Wheels - Doors - Tacho - Stereo - Ipod Cable - Floor Mats - Luggage Cover - heaps more!Comment
