Hi all,
I'm new to this forum out of utter frustration with the problems I have had with my 2012 mk6 90 TSI golf.
About a year ago my car cut out while turning in the middle of a small intersection. Everything went completely dead, breaks ceased to function, lights, electronics.. only had the handbrake left to bring me to a complete stop. Quite a frightening occurrence, so took it in to my local dealer who checked the car and found no issue. A few months passed and everything was okay, until the car cut out in the same circumstances once again. Took the car back to the dealer and they replaced the clutch. In the past 5 months, the car has not cut out again, but it continues to make a clunking metal-on-metal type noise when the car is cold. I took it back to the dealer once again, and they confirmed this didn't seem normal, so the clutch was replaced again. I am still not satisfied with the noises the car is making.
Tonight driving home, a yellow light indicating a fault in the catalytic converter has appeared and remained on my dashboard. I have no idea if all these issues are related, but I am quite frankly losing my patience with VW who continue to assure me any problem has been resolved, only for the problem to persist, and additional problems to arise. The manual says I need to get to my local workshop, but in all honesty I do not feel comfortable driving the car with the light on, given the cut outs that have occurred.
The car has only done 30,000km, so is relatively new still. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice as to what I should do. I wholeheartedly love the golf, but not with the issues I have experienced.
Thanks in advance!
