Mk7 Climatronic in Mk6?

Hi everyone looking at buying a second hand Climatronic from a Mk7 Comfortline to put in my mk6 GTI it dawned on my tonight while I was driving, what colour in the lighting in stereo and Climatronic of the Comfortline? Is it red like my GTI? Or is there a way to change the colour??

Buy the kit from Bold Sport as it includes everything you need to fit it into a Mk6. Only takes 5-10mins to do. Looks much better and is easier to use.

Lighting colour is red - matches the rest of your Mk6.

What does the kit contain???
so just confirming the lights behind the Climatronic are red!

If it is the one sold by Bold Sport, it would come with the surround panel to suit. For your GTI, you would need the one with heated seat buttons to get the auto recirc function. See option "2" on their website.

I have found a new/second hand one that vdubmotorworx is wrecking - would this fit in my car, can I just use my housing and put it in?? its from a Comfortline model will this suit?? I don't have heated seats in my GTI.

The actual climatronic unit itself will fit, but your centre console trim panel will no longer fit. This is why we are telling you to buy the kit from Bold Sport as it comes with the new dash trim you need.

one more question... (I haven't seen a mk7 in person so i can't compare) but if i get the housing with the climatronic off vdubmotorworx then will it all then fit in my car??
or just scrap buy thing that unit and get it all from Bold sport??

Pretty sure they are different and will not fit.

I'm confused. What's the advantaged of this change over what is already in my Mk6 GTI?

Thanks Lucas_R - is the climate control better? I find my GTI A/C working well, then middle of the drive, it will start blasting cold air. So I find myself switching between 22 and 24 a lot.

You can also adjust in 0.5 degree increments on the mk7 version.
