  • Rough idle / stuttering acceleration

    Hey guys,

I've recently bought a manual, 60 000km, 2010 Mk6 GTI. I noticed straight away that the acceleration had some stuttering in the low revs and also that it has been idling rough and popping occasionally on a cold start. When she settles under 1k rpm after a minute or so, seems fine. I've brought the car to VW to diagnose under dealer used car warranty and they've located a misfire and remedied the issue by cleaning and re-spacing the spark plugs. I feel as if the low rev acceleration in first has definitely improved, though other gears still don't feel as smooth or linear in acceleration.

Similar to http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...dle-58757.html, but with the acceleration problem. Anyone ever had a similar issue or ideas on what else I could have them look for?

    Cheers.

Do you know if they inspected the coil packs?

Could be related to oil consumption(fouling plugs) or a leaking injector. Out of those 2 however the cleaning/regapping plugs would only have fixed a fouled plug... Temporarily.

If you have a vagcom, take a drive a monitor MVBs 15 & 16 in the engine to see which cylinders are registering a misfire.
