Got the Whiteline ALK (part # KCA316) fitted yesterday by Heasemans.

Apparently there are 2 settings; street and race. We opted for the race, which along with a wheel alignment has improved traction. Not eliminated entirely but certainly a huge improvement.

Yea worth getting especially if your car is tuned.

Haven't had a chance to test the handling yet but turn in feels more positive

I've sold several of the Super Pro Alloy LCA & Extra caster + Anti-lift kits and the feedback has all been glowingly positive.
Better traction, beter stability, improved steering feel and responsiveness, unsprung weight reduction and better fuel economy. You can't lose. IMHO it's the best mod you can do to a Mk5/Mk6.

I've read that the weight reduction is compared to the heavier MK5 GTI. My question is why wouldn't you just upgrade the bush alloy bracket (kit with 1deg extra caster) at about half the cost instead of the entire arm?

Alloy arm is still noticably lighter than the pressed metal arm on the MK6.

                Cast arm = 4.6kg

                Alloy arm = 2.9kg

pressed metal arm is about halfway inbetween.

Simply, because that's only one part of the package. The extra caster and anti-lift on it's own is good, but the urethane bushes in the front of the alloy arm,and the reduced weight of the alloy arms make up the rest of the package, and contribute as much to improving the car's handling as the rear bracket. It's only half the job if you do the rear bush on it's own.

Lowered cars should also replace their front ball joints with the roll centre correcting and camber adjustable models for the best possible improvement.

                  Regards,

                  Justin.

Got the rear bars fitted to my standard Golf GTI. Car feels a lot better then standard in the bends. Very happy.

What size/tinkles did you buy Zoolander. Not sure if 24 or 22mm is the way to go

I wanted to bring this thread back.

Wondering what people have done in terms of RSB or FSB, 22mm or 24mm?
Looking to get one for my MK6?

I got the SPM swaybar about a year ago from Dubaddiction. Its adjustable and from memory i believe its 22mm.

Plenty of other choices out there though - Superpro, Whiteline, H&R etc.

How is it at 22mm noticable difference? I've been looking at 24mm from SuperPro or Whiteline I hear that the bushing on the Whiteline need constant greasing. Also read that 24mm is a little too stiff.

I had also read that 24mm was too stiff so thats why i wanted the 22mm. Dont forget the aftermarket swaybars are solid whereas the stock ones are hollow (aftermarket ones weight at least 2x more).

I fitted the swaybar along with new SPM lowered springs and Koni shocks - so the cars handling changed quite a bit with all that.

Yeah I know the backs are 21.7mm hollow with 3mm walling, 22mm solid would weight a fair bit more. I'm not changing the springs so still wondering if it would make a world a difference.
