I know you can set the brightness but I'm wondering if you can set it so that with the doors open you get maximum brightness and then thereafter it goes to your normal brightness setting.
While screwing with anything on the CANBUS often ends it tears, theoretically you could rig up a relay that picks up the signal from the door switch as a trigger that then feeds the footwell lights full power when it's activated (i.e. door open) then reverts back to the stock signal when the door is closed. As far as I am aware there is no bulb out error for these lights so it shouldn't trip any errors... but then like I said, screwing with the electrics isn't alway a good idea.
If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.
Whenever the doors r open on mine, the footwell lights r on at full brightness.
Close the doors, and the footwell lights dim, if the side/head lights r switched on.
Otherwise they turn off with the interior light.
I used vcds coding for a mk6 golf install.
