I've just called my local service centre for a quote to service my golf. It needs it's 45,000km service.
VW website puts capped service at $465 + pollen filter + brake fluid (if needed) and valid until 31 January 2015.
For my 2012 diesel with DSG.
Was quoted $512. (But of course assured they would be at least a bit under it).
When I asked about the capped servicing they said that the price was going to increase by 10%.
Has anyone heard of this? Or are they playing silly buggers with me and just skimming off the top?
The office girl was quite dumbfounded when I said that the capped price was fixed until 2015.

I asked exactly the same question for my 30000k service, but they wouldn't budge. So I took my business to another dealer which turned out to be $150 cheaper.
Was in a similar situation to AdamD and m_f, quoted by my regular dealership (where I bought my vehicle) $1500 for 60k 4 year service (GTI's done 50k). Asked them why and they just said I wasn't eligible for fixed capped price. Fair enough but then why do their website indicate otherwise when I enter my vehicle details? Didn't get a 'reasonable' answer when I asked why the $400 premium.
Anyways, went to another dealership who quoted me $1100, savings of $400 (but not without issues, I am now using a Polo courtesy car till they rectify the issue). On top of the $1100, I also spent additional for cleaning injectors, wheel alignment and changing brakes and rotors. Utterly dissapointed with dealerships.

Yeah this is so confusing now... I am in the same boat as you now..60K service coming up...I hope I will be as lucky as AdamD...the website when entering the vehicle's stats does state its about $1200....will need to ring up and see what they say...
