Here I was, thinking I'd be priced out of the game.

Going off that example alone, clearly not. Business as per usual.

I suppose it keeps the buyers who consider it valuable happy, while still leaving the option for (better, cheaper) servicing independently.

Yeah, there are some dealerships who are clearly price-gouging. Have heard and seen prices over the $500 mark for 15K services on passenger cars.

Although, loading a few different late-model Golfs in, shows some very different prices (in one case $50 or so) for the 15K. Not sure why, when the labour should be theoretically the same, with only a marginal difference in price and oil quantity. Unless they're doing better deals on the more popular models, and if so, fair play to them.

Gee even Auto Leaders quoted 215! Wow 410? When my Camry was in fixed price servicing it was 130 for the first four services. It is supposed to be good value not a hold up

Yeah, I was expecting prices to be in the high $100s/low $200s to out-price the independants.

LOL... Nice to know the 60,000 is capped at $1132!

Anyway, they will find a way to charge more... Like asking if you want to flush the injectors or change spark plugs.

My 60k came to just under $1400

That's very truth and it's not just the VAG dealers.

It's unwise to pay too little.

IMO, the pollen filter, brake fluid and Haldex fluid really should have been included in the scheme.

What difference does it make that they have time-based replacement intervals? It doesn't justify their exclusion from the capped price because it's still part of the normal service schedule, as defined by the factory.

As long as all the work is done according the factory service schedule, I don't see why one should pay more than the advertised price.

As far as I can recall, only MY10-onwards Tiguans have a time-based interval for Haldex, at 4 years.

Yeah, I remember when all that first kicked off. You'd be doing well to turn a profit on them.
