Golf 6 GTI Oil Filter

Hey folks, just wondering what's the difference in the oil filters that are on offer and why different part numbers. The one I currently have is a 06J115561B, ECS tuning have one with a part number 06J115403J or a 'C' at the end. Are all these filters the same?

If you look here VWVortex.com - Oil Filter CBFA vs CCTA? this can been discussed by the guys from the USA. Apparently the oil filter has it's own part number, and then the box that the oil filter comes in has the other part number you have quoted.

06J115561B-- that's the number on the actual filter
06J115403C-- that's the number on the box the filter sits in

You can also buy a MANN branded filter (MANN manufacture the filters for VW/Audi/Skoda etc anyway) and their part number is W719/45 See here: EuropaParts.com: Oil Filter (2.0 TFSI) - 06J115403C ive bought a few things recently from Europa Parts and they are good.

Thanks mate, a very helpful reply. Bold-Sport have just updated their parts list and they now have the 'B' where as before they had a 'J' one. Will look into Europa parts also.

No worries - i didnt realise Bold Sport were selling these now (they must have expanded their range substancially over the past few months because last time i looked on their website they weren't selling oil filter and air filters etc).

Bold Sport are also very good to deal with and their pricing is good too - just buy from them.

Just got the filter. The 'J' one is the box and the 'B' one is the filter, why the box has a part number i dont know.
