I've done a search on here and google but failed

    Welcome to the forums.

There is no definite list of option codes that I'm aware of.

Within NADCON there is Car Configurator page, where along with the option codes, are an plain english "description" of the option, although it's usually not more than about 5 words. If you don't know what NADCON is, check out the first post of the How to track the car you have ordered? thread. But given the year of your car, I presume this means 2nd hand.. and therefore a dealer isn't going to be able to help you there.

Additionally, you can pay for an hour's use of the official VAG "Electronic Repair and Workshop Information service", otherwise known as erWin. If you have your VIN, you can put in that into erWin and do a "Individual vehicle information" search and find out exactly what components were used... but this includes literally every "pr code" that goes into the car, not just the options - so that may give you far more information than you wanted...

The other alternative is to just list the option codes you have, and forum members can detail what they are....

        Try this link:

        VW Group Option Codes Decoder

You just type in the 3 digit codes with a space between them and it will spit out all the factory fitted options.

How to check what options the car came with from factory

            Hi All,

Just saw my car for the first time and as part of the order I ticked the options of roof, satnav, rear camera, 19s and leather. However, when i sighted the car straight away I noticed that the wheels were sticking out more than on a normal R with 19s. On further investigation i found out that the wheels were from a Scirroco R and not a Golf R. Due to the car coming standard with 18s the little tabs on the wheels arches are missing, does anyone know if this is a problem.

Given this has happened I want to know what else the dealer has retro-fitted, if anything, as the contract I have states they all have to be factory optioned. Apart from the roof everything else can be retro-fitted.

In the Audis and some other manufactures they list the option codes in the manual or service book.

So, does anyone know how to find out what the car comes from the factory?

Need to know this asap please as the car is due for delivery.

            Thanks in anticipation.

              +
              in the boot.

there will b a sticker with all the codes, indicating what it was built with from factory.
then use this website to decipher what the codes mean - VW/Audi/Seat/Škoda Option Codes Decoder

If you have the VIN sign up to ERWIN with a 1 hour subscription for 5 Euro and print the Vehicle Specific Information for the VIN.

Those little tabs are there because the 19" wheels protrude out past the wheel arches, and ADRs require that wheels sit wholly within the bodywork of the vehicle. Many manufacturers who produce a 'sports' model of a standard car which has wider wheels will solve this issue by rolling the guards themselves; in the case of the Golf R VW have decided to use the little plastic tabs to 'widen' the bodywork rather than tooling an entire new front quarter panel just for the R.

Long story short, without those plastic tabs in theory your 19" wheels are not ADR compliant, so you could be defected or denied registration. Of course that's a pretty extreme scenario but as you've paid for 19" wheels from the factory that's what you should be getting.

Ask the dealer to rectify the issue by, at the very least, adding the appropriate plastic tabs to the bodywork of your car.

You may also want to ask the dealer to replace the silver accented headlights of your car with the black accented headlights that come as part of the 19" wheel option when it is ordered from the factory.

Thanks for the replies all...couple of questions.

What's this ERWIN site, has someone got an address for it?

Also, with the 19s option...aren't the headlight accents the same colour as the wheels...silver 19s = silver accents, black 19s = black accents???

I don't know what to think now or what to do with this car...hence the reason why i asked for everything to be factory fitted.

Any other difference in the car when 19s are optioned? Suspension tune, hubs, anything? I think not but someone might tell me different.

I'm sure others with silver 19s can confirm (my R has black 19s), but I'm pretty certain that black headlight accents are a feature of all cars with 19" wheels, regardless of the colour of the wheels. Other than the plastic tabs I don't think there's anything else that comes with the larger wheel size.

Ok...so I got onto erWin and it showed I had the following

                          45 3FE P DEI Electric slide/tilt sunroof with sun screen/sunblind
59 4A3 P SIH Seat heater for front seats separately controlled
                          105 7T6 P NAV Navigation system (MID)
106 8A0 P EPH Park distance control, front and rear with rear view camera
                          107 8AY P RAO Radio/navigation system
                          142 C6Z L RAD Alloy wheels 7.5 x 18
184 WL3 G --- Leather trim "Vienna" with top sports seats front and "R" logo on headrests

So, looks like apart from the 19s everything is factory. If they fix that part then all is good...hopefully.

Just out of curiosity, what is the offset difference between the Scirocco and the Golf Rs, cause it looks like the wheels are more concave and stick out more.

Searching will definitely answer your question, as this is way off the topic of this thread.

                            Having said that... Golf R 19s are ET50; Scirocco R 19s are ET41.

                              Thanks for the info...

...I have further found that when ordered from the factory Golf R with 19s come with steering w/ reduced steering height where as the ones with 18s don't have this 'w/ reduced steering height'. The PR-numbers are also different between the 2 cars. I am trying to find out what this means and what the difference actually is...anybody know?
