What engine mounts are people liking in the Mark 6?

Is the APR engine mount a DIY job, or does it need a mechanic/special equipment & tools to do?

Im a big fan of replacing the whole pendulum mount as with the BSH setup. Its more expensive but the re-engineering the entire arm has allowed them to product a product that is not only unoffensive to drive with but actually feels more solid than with just a TAI. Its especially good on manual cars where the standard driveline shunt really is more noticeable through the clutch pedal.

ColinG from Melbourne is selling a BSH Engine Mount Kit for a MK5 GTI here. Assuming that the MK5 GTI mount is suitable for the Golf R, there seems to be a good deal to be had there...

The side mounts are for people looking to further improve their cars but they arent for everyone. Vibration isnt overly offensive with the BSH ones but they do change the character of the car. BSH setups are fine for mk5 or mk6 yes

Its a pretty easy job for anyone with a little bit of mechanical aptitude and a torque wrench. Takes around 10 - 15 minutes to install.

Yep, engine mounts are probably the easiest of the bushes to replace in a car. (obviously changes car to car)
Usually you just loosen them off, put a jack under the engine to take the weight/raise the engine a little, remove and replace.
Hardest part is getting a hold of a torque wrench to tighten them up to the correct spec.
