Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Help choosing Golf!

I have the 118 TSI - I fitted some genuine VW extras myself on the cheap via Ebay (see signature). I've also put the APR ECU software on to make better use of the supercharger (which sounds great btw, but not too loud).
The headlines:
1.4L Golf with ~203 BHP (Mk5 Golf has 200, Mk6 has 210), and with 320nm torque (GTI has 280nm, 103TDI has 320nm).
My exuberant driving still averages just under 7.5L per 100k, I can get over 800km per tank (SHell VPower).
I find the car luxurious, practical, good looking while inconspicuous, powerful/sporty (0-100 in about 6.8 seconds), economical (if desired), and look forward to every time I have to go drive somewhere.
I'm sure I'd love a GTI or R as well, but I don't think I'd have half as much fun in the 90TSI, but leave the decision to you of course.
Hope this helps
