        • ummm, there's two large holes on the inside door skin of the tailgate where you can grab hold of to shut it without touching the paint.

Or you could always retrofit stronger gas struts, do a little recoding in VCDS, and automate the closing process via your key fob. Actually, I think that's just for opening it, so ignore that.
Some say he was the Stig... all we know is that he drives a VW Transporter.

Yep, arm up, palm of hand facing back towards you, and pull down the tailgate from one of those two "large holes" on the inside face of the tailgate as you step backwards (so it doesn't clonk you on the noggin!). That single motion will allow the tailgate to close without slamming or a further push etc. If you can't do it the first time, then practise a few times (and also, it can take the new strutts a little while to wear in...)

                            • Hey All,

My neighbour is a professional photographer and as part of a tafe course he is doing needed something to do with some RAC award so needed a person and their car... And as he worships my car more than I do he asked me straight away. Enjoy.

BTW... I know I have super skinny legs... Sigh....
