Thanks boys, the photos really don't do her justice, the reflections are mirror.
Rob_R, you are either going to have to have it pro detailed or if you are an experienced wax jockey like me you should be right. The amount of crud on the paintwork is amazing, do the bag test and you will know straight away. My wife walked into the dealership when we picked it up and ran her fingers over the paintwork and said straight away it needs detailing, the bag test just made it worse.
Any way I have a range of products which I am trying to use up because car detailing is an addiction. I washed with a base car wash ( Armorall Blue), I usually use Duragloss cause it is both ph neutral and has some brightners in the mix which really make the car look good but I wanted a stronger wash to remove as much dirt as possible. I then clayed with a new clay block which pretty much went from grey to brown ( just amazing on a 2 week old car). I then washed it again with Armorall Blue then you can see all the surface scratches caused by the clay.
I havn't detailed a dark car before and it really shows up the top coat scratches, I then used Menerna polish with an orbital buffer and took it back, the car is now starting to get the right amount of shine to it. I then prepped the paint with dodo Lime prime, I don't know what it is with that stuff but it just seems to do the trick in prepping the paint.
Then a coat of Menzerna Wax sealant followed by a coat of Zymol Carbon. I am a huge Zymol fan, can't get the stuff anymore but I have a good stock of the wax cleaner but not the Carbon.. next week end after a wash I am thinking of putting another coat on for good measure.
Had to go out in the rain this morning and it beads bootifully..
I also used a heat resistant wax on the wheels, they powder real bad, this stuff seems to repel water and dust and make the wheels popCurrent Ride: MY 16 Daytona Pearl Grey Audi S3- Performance Pack 1, Sunroof and Driver assist

i like the R tails, but for me personally it looks better with the bi-xenon headlights... with halogen headlights they look a bit out of balance... just my 2c and a reason to stop me from buying the R tails :pMitsubishi Pajero Sport - Super Select 2WD/4WD

haha you know u want the R tails
I probably would have optioned the bi-xenon if they had the DRL at the time, but then again I don't think the wife was too keen on me spending any more money on it. It was already way over budget hahahaMY11 VW Golf GTI Carbon Steel Gray | DSG | 18" Detroits | Leather | Sunroof | Bluetooth | MDI | Tint | Mud flaps | R LED rear tail lights
