i love the GruppeM intake, i'd consider spending the $1000
but when i see it in the MKVI engine bay, it looks like it doesn't fit correctly...
there's a 1inch gap between the top edge, and the headlight bracket.
Is this because Gruppe M used the MKV design to cut costs, or is this an intentional gap?

Agree completely.

I was just about to drop some serious coin on this air filter, but I find that it does not line up properly, and they are selling up MKV stock.. very poor considering these cost an absolute small fortune.

Kills the brand image a bit too I reckon.

They still are the benchmark, but if they dont look right, they dont look right.

In fairness to GruppeM, if you notice, the MK6 doesn't have the plastic "engine bay trim" continue all the way around either. So there IS no "top edge" to "seal" to. The headlight brackets are now the top-most edge in the MK6 bay, and whilst I haven't got a MK6 with regular lights to compare, it wouldn't surprise me if there were differences between the headlight brackets for the halogen and xenon lights.
