It's a bastard to take photos of - made worse when you're a phototard like myself!

Thanks for your kind words everyone Darren, that's my PC desktop too, did you notice the Lakin plate covers? Finally decided to get some.

Dave, I left my camera in auto pilot and took several pics under and over exposed to get the best result. All you need is something decent and a tripod! FYI I'm using a 7 year old Konica Minolta 7D SLR it's only a 6MP!

I normally say, size does not matter, however in this instance I think you may need something a little larger...:p

LOL, i did actually notice that you had the plate covers fitted, they finish the euro plates off nicely don't they.

GTI @ Bathurst

Hey,

Went for a drive to Bathurst last week to get out of the city and enjoy my new GTI. Couldn't resit a couple of laps of the race track whilst there.

I don't know what's more awesome - your car, or the fact you can take your car on the Bathurst racetrack!

I'd love to drive around Bathurst the next time I'm there (as long as there are no race meets, anyone can - it's public road).
The problem is... I'm just not sure I could do it without planting my foot and ending up in jail!

Well there isn't any speed cameras (must be the only place in NSW without any..lol)

Favourite parts of the track are: "The Cutting" - going up. & "The Esses" - going down.

Heaps of learner drivers were on the track that day....must be a favourite spot for local dads to take the kids for lessons on a Sunday.

This is the tint i got from the dealer looks alright to me but the back windows have a greenish color to it while the front doesn't

I don't think I am a fan of the GTI light cluster LED DRLs... They look too fussy on an unfussy car. I like the R DRLs as they are clean and only complement the styling. The light cluster DRLs seem like an afterthought... Introduced to simply meet Euro guidelines with minimal cost in doing so.

They don't look good from a distance. The shape of LED strip doesn't complement the golf nor the light cluster.

They would have been better off doing a clean flat line, or go around the light in full - similar to BMW's backlit DRLs.

When I first saw these on youtube out of Europe, I thought they were after market add ons! Not the case! Anyhow, not for me.

That's the problem, such a great road and the cop's know it. Last time I was there on a cruise with mates, they had a highway patrol car cutting laps as well. Doing 60km/h was the crime!
